So who's coming to this year's Littlehampton Bonfire Celebrations?

This year's event's date is: Saturday 30/10/2010

It is going to be another great evening of entertainment including a torchlight procession, mammoth bonfire, seafront firework display and funfair, fun for all the family.

Have you picked up your Programme yet? If not, have a look at the Official Littlehampton Bonfire Society's website for a list of all the shops were you can get one from, or follow this link: http://www.lbs.me.uk/Programmes.htm

For Health and Safety Information and Road Closures please go to: http://www.lbs.me.uk/HealthandSaftey.htm

We hope you have a great evening and we'll wait for your comments before and after the event Smiley

I'm usually pretty critical of most events held in Littlehampton, but I've got to say the Bonfire Night Parade is head and shoulders above the rest and well worth going to.

If you've not been before, take at look at these images from last year http://slidesha.re/37Zvxm and it'll give you a flavour of what to expect.

On a side note, it's going to be interesting to see how the bench and shelters fare as this will be the first big event that's taken place since their arrival.

So, are you all looking forward to tomorrow then  Smiley ?
The Weather doesn't look too good, let's hope tomorrow is a dry day (even if it is cold) and we'll have a great evening  Smiley

I don't know if you thought the same, but to me last night's Bonfire Parade was nowhere near as good as previous years.

Instead of being an authentic parade, for reasons I cannot understand it has now turned into another version of the Carnival with uninspired floats and irrelevant participants (such as the Coastguards vehicle) that surely don't belong in a bonfire parade or, for that matter, add anything to the event.

If you want to see a proper Bonfire that is a true spectacle (and stays true to the tradition) go to Lewes on Friday and you'll see how it should be done.

In the meantime, if you want to see my images from last night, they're here http://slidesha.re/bWlsV1

Here is a video of last night's Bonfire Parade, videoed at Beach Road.
Quality is not great as I'm not a Camera man, and the footage was taken with a mobile phone  Smiley

The bonfire was FAB!
I just moved here recently (even though my parent sused to live in the flats opposite for a while some years ago) .. its the first time we went to it and we all had a great night. It was my 6year old nephews first bonfire night / parade / fireworks late night out! . .He WELL loved it! And look how kind the weather was!
