It's official. Once again, Littlehampton has received the prestigious Blue Flag award for its beach.

That means we have one of the best beaches in England. What a great message that is to give to all 'staycationers' this summer.  I just wonder if those responsible for the town's tourism will make a big splash about it.

Bearing in mind that the Town Council has no plans to put on an opening event for the Bench, the likelihood is they'll do nothing which is such a missed opportunity.

I drove along the seafront this morning and the sea looked wonderful.  I hear that Bognor Regis failed to get a blue flag this year.

Go Littlehampton!!   Cheesy

The beaches are great! Did you see that report about the people taking shell fish from the beach to sell in London? Not cool.

How on earth did Littlehampton not make it into this year's Good Beach Guide?

It's not acceptable for an Arun spokeswoman simply say it's "disappointing."  As a seaside resort that relies on day-trippers, it's also a very costly omission, one that make no sense having just received the much coveted Blue Flag and Quality Coast awards.

If anyone knows a better beach on this stretch of coast than West Beach, I'd love to know where it is.

This is just the kind of story the Gazette should get behind, but they're too busy filling their pages with tales about dogs being rescued by the RNLI rather than investigating the serious issues that affect our town.

Gary - do you know where this sewage overflow pipe is then? According to the Environment Agency that is the reason we didn't get the rating. But I don't know where this pipe is?
