Costa Coffee is here! Yay!!!
It has been really busy both days and the staff say they can't believe how busy they are. Lets hope that more quality brands follow and revitilise Littlehampton Smiley. It's great being able to go there after our walks.

What does Costa's have that Cafe Max, Hunnies, Vittorio's and even the Sainsbury's cafe and Laura May's don't?

NB I am seriously interested in people's answers to this, not looking for an argument.

Hello Jim

I just really like the coffee and the set up. I was asked this question a while ago (can't remember by who) on here and I had to say that I would not go for coffee in Sainsburys (far too noisy and poor offering), Laura May's I don't know where that is and Hunnies - not my thing - its a cafe not a coffee house. We have gone for coffee at the cafe near the tennis courts and it's not nice, the cafe at the Look & Sea centre is what it is but the coffee again isn't very nice.

Hope this answers your question.

Ah I see, not being a coffee drinker this attraction passed me by.

Laura May's is the cafe near where Woolworths used to be. I also forgot Mac Snacks in the arcade.

Both of those places are cafes and again, not coffee houses. I like a nice squidgy sofa, relaxing atmosphere and no cooking smells to put me off my latte treat Smiley

we started a discussion about this a while back.  For me, hunnies is fine to drop in on, but chairs are so flippin' uncomfortable that I wouldn't stay for long.  With Costa I'd stay there a while, meet friends, find a corner and do some study.  Plus they do some great muffins  Grin.

How can I have a say without upseting anybody.... Roll Eyes

I believe that those places Jim's mentioned serve very good coffee and so, I don't want to suggest that Costa's better than any other coffee shop, but different.

Costa is to coffee what Nando's is to Peri-Peri Chicken. There's nothing like them in the country.
Some of you know where I came from and going to Nando's (as I did today) and to Costa (as I did yesterday) is as close as I get to tasting home.

The coffee is different. The flavour is different and tastes just like real coffee!

Yes I remember a discussion about it a while back but didn't understand. Now I do: it's the coffee, stupid!

Thanks

Hmm, OK, "Two out of three respondents say it's the coffee!"

Well I shall be in there tomorrow sipping camomile tea and munching on a muffin.  Undecided may have to think about re-phrasing that.

It isn't just the coffee - its the atmosphere too - though if the coffee was awful I wouldn't go there. I don't go to Cafe Nero as although they are nice inside the coffee is awful.

Im loving Costa - I must be their most frequent customer already and it is certainly make me go into town a lot more often and spend my money in other places (Boots, Superdrug & Sainsbury's, Body Shop, the veg shop, Bunces) than I used to which can't be a bad thing.
