Hi, I don't want to sound critical but I think starting with 30+ forums is a bit overwhelming -- it would be better to start with three forums and to create new ones as there is need. It's better to have a few forums with lots of messages than 30 which are almost empty. And already there is confusion, e.g. "Littlehampton cafe in world's top 5" surely does not belong in the "Littlehampton History" forum.

Anyway I wish you luck with this, it is a worthwhile project!

Hi Jim

Constructive criticism is always welcome after all that's what a Forum is all about  Wink!

When you say 30+ Foruns, I think that you mean "Boards", right? Because this is the very first and only Forum totally dedicated to Littlehampton. There are no other Forums.

If you are talking about the 30+ Boards you are probably right. This forum started only 4 days ago and i'm sure that a lot of things will have to be changed. Some boards might have to be removed and others might have to be added in the future.

Based on my experience, I think it's better to open the Forum with too many Boards than too little because if Boards are too many, we can easily remove some or disable them.
If there were only about 3 boards, a lot of discussions regarding different subjects would have to be posted on the same Board which not only makes life dificult for the members to search for what they are looking for but it would make the forum very untidy. And every time we added a new Board, we would have to go throught all the old messages and move them to the right board as many of them would then be out of place.
And this is a real pain in the neck and very time consuming!

I will take your comments on board, but I would like to give it some more time for the forum to adjust and to hear some more opinions from other users. After all, this is your Forum and you "the members" are in control!!

Regarding the "Littlehampton cafe in world's top 5",  you are absolutely right.
This Thread was put there while I was testing the forum "Offline" a few weeks ago when there weren't many boards and I didn't remember to move it to the right category at the time but it will be moved now. I think that the best place for it will be "general Discussion".

Thanks for the observations  Smiley

Well, I think we will have to agree to disagree since my experience is that a few boards packed with messages is better than having loads with no or a very few messages each. But as you accept you will have to reorganise in the future there is scope for organic growth so we'll see how it goes.

All the best,

We are all entitled to our own opinions and mine is that this forum looks great and very well put together.
Well done to the creators. Keep up the good work and please don't let this project fade away. People of LA will appreciate this!
